Home Health Visitor Program

You have probably heard the phrase "Pastoral Care Committee"or "Home Visitor Program" mentioned in The Epistle or Sunday Sermons.  What does this group do?

The goals of the Pastoral Care Home Visitor Program is to make sure than anyone in our church who is ill, lives alone, or is grieving due to the loss of a loved one, receives extra encouragement, support and spiritual care.  In this day of constant job changes, many of ourparishioners do not have family nearby for support in times of crisisor illness. Undoubtedly you, or someone you know, has been a "caregiver" in today's aging and transitory population.

If you appreciate the needs of the elderly, or too readily understand those who are alone -- would you consider adopting one of ourparishioners for a monthly visit?  You will both benefit as you develop a relationship! Jesus said "In as much as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, then you have done it unto me."

We are asking for a once-a-month commitment for one year. Due tonew guidelines for preventing abuse in church settings, two adults mustbe present for a home visit. You can be part of a "visiting team," and also develop new relationships as part of the Home Visitor team. And, if a Sundayvisit better suits your schedule, we can arrange for a Eucharistic ministerto accompany you.

If you choose not to participate, you will still have received invaluable information in supporting your own family members who are in crisis, ill, or live alone.
